Van Gogh Museum *

World's most comprehensive Van Gogh collection
The most visited museum in the Netherlands houses the works of iconic Dutch post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh (1853–90) and his contemporaries, including Manet, Monet, Gaughin, Seurat, van Dongen, Redon and Rodin. Needless to say, the museum's 200 paintings, 400 drawings, and 700 letters by van Gogh constitutes the world's largest van Gogh collection. The museum was founded as recently as 1973, opening well after the death of its designer Gerrit Thomas Rietveld (1888–1964).
