HotSpot Bar (Closed Permanently) Formerly: Club Stereo, Erix HotSpot Café

Shamelessly cosy and gay bar in the Amsterdam 'brown café' style, this is the reincarnation of the Hot Spot Café (formerly at Amstel 102), which closed in 2014. In the spirit of the original nearly all-male bar, the new business, opened March 2016 (as Erix HotSpot Café), embraces the old and the new and the camp, but now with video bingo every Friday and dancing at the weekend. Daily Happy Hour from 5pm–6pm. For the record, here's the convoluted history: the revamped (and temporary) name Erix HotSpot Café — which got changed quickly owing to the bar-v-café confusion — referred to co-owners Eric and Erik. Eric co-owned the original Amstel-located bar with Hans van Schaik, who is the partner of Erik, who ran Club Stereo on this same spot until its closure in January 2016. Sadly closed in 2018.
