Hello kittens!
Fresh new edition of the queer salon!
And it will be queer party night at Vrankrijk on the same evening!
Many of us are doing their activism while at the same time healing from traumas and taking constant hits from the world. Many of us suffer from depression or bodily pain as a result of all that. While there are actions and wild celebrations, we spend less time relaxing, getting to know and taking care of each other. So that's where the idea of the Queer Salon came from.

The idea is for everyone to contribute what they can to the well being of others.
That will include:
- Stretching (bring mats if you have any!)
- Massages (there will be a massage table)
- Karaoke
- Doing nails and hair
- Reading from favourite blog posts or books (bring them!)
- Giving hair cuts
+ Whatever you can think of and would like to set up there (send me a pm just to double check it's feasible with the space we have)
The final agenda will be added 1 week before the event.
Some guidelines: If you think that any of this is shallow and pointless well perfect: you're not invited. If you regularly describe people's reactions as being "overly sensitive", "politically correct" or "over reacting" etc. guess what? You're not welcome. We will not tolerate any oppressive behaviour: transmisogyny, racism, islamophobia, homophobia, ableism, transphobia, femmephobia, objectification and any other type of oppressive behaviour. If you get called out: do not argue or justify: apologise, commit to not doing it again and move on. Otherwise, you will be asked to leave.
Please note that the salon is also a Non Smoking event
If you want to read more about the idea of self care / community care, there are some people who have written great stuff about it out there:

or here: http://www.spectraspeaks.com/2013/05/love-and-afrofeminism-5-core-self-care-principles-every-activist-should-live-by/
If you're coming from out of town, don't hesitate to drop a line on the event page or message me if you need a place to stay over on Friday or Saturday night.
By the way the event is free and the bar in Vrankrijk's will be CLOSED so bring your own drinks and snacks. Also bring blankets or things to sit on to be cosy. We also ask you to please smoke outside the venue. And if you have any questions or remarks don't hesitate to pm me!
Hope to see you there!
