Café de Jaren

(25 Ratings)
Smart and busy café overlooking the Amstel

A pleasing, airy, and high-ceilinged café-cum restaurant on two floors, including a popular waterside terrace and upstairs balcony perched above the Amstel. Food is European with Dutch dabblings (eg winter venison) and the clientele is international, with foreign-language newspapers and wi-fi available.

The Place to Be

Either on the deck or a balcony overlooking the canal (river?) in the centre of Amsterdam. What more can you ask for.

A must visit, nice terrace at the Amstel river.

Best is to hire a small boat and visit cafes like these from the water! Nice food and crowd.
