Franck goes to a cruise spot around a picturesque lake every day in the summer. He swims a bit, looks around, chats a little and has sex with other men. The erotic atmosphere gets a strange turn when Franck witnesses a murder. The minimalist direction of the film creates a sultry tension. L'Inconnu du Lac is a layered, hypnotic (and erotic) thriller in which the relationship between desire and danger is being explored.
