A touch of the boutique, and central too
The more central of two Amsterdam hotels in the very decent French chain Mercure, this four-star outlet takes its name from the previous owner — who sold it in the early 1990s — and has a boutique thing going on, with its 93 rooms differing in size and (tasteful/arty) decor. There's no gym or sauna, but the hotel is located very close to the Rijksmuseum in the south central area of Amsterdam, bookended by the Vijzelgracht and Reguliersgracht.
