The somewhat novelty menu includes a creamy garlic soup, house speciality Runderstoofpot (beef stew) and ice cream made from...garlic. Even vodka with a twist of garlic. Plus lamb shank, pasta, a daily fish, filet mignon and other traditional-sounding options. Opened 1997.

Good food, okay ambiance.
If you've ever been to The Stinking Rose in San Francisco or the nearby Garlic Festival in Gilroy, then The Garlic Queen will be a huge disappointment. But if you're looking for good food, reasonably priced, and an okay ambiance in THE gay street in Amsterdam, then this is the place for you.
