I stayed here last year and cannot wait until my next visit in a couple weeks. Unfortunately I became ill when I arrived in Amsterdam, but believe me...this was the perfect hotel to stay in bed all day! Speaking of, I want to import one of their beds. Absolute heaven! My room was so quaint with French doors that led to my own private garden patio. The service was outstanding. Bonus: it was a 10-15 minute walk from the main street of gay bars. This unique hotel is a collection of 25 restored 17th and 18th century canal houses. Interior glass-enclosed walkways bring light into the hotel's central public spaces, and provide views of their gardens. My partner and I have stayed here three times and each room was different, all with a special Dutch ambience. The location on Prinsengracht (the Prinsen canal) is both picturesque and convenient. Walk out the front door, turn right and walk just a few minutes to two of Amsterdam's most important cultural sites: the Homomonument and the Anne Frank House. Westerkerk, where Rembrandt is buried, is also nearby. If you are looking for a hotel that offers real Dutch charm, this would be an excellent choice.
