Barangay B&B

A tropcial theme pervades this friendly and welcoming bed and breakfast co-owned by in-house designer and former Dutch ballet dancer Wimmo and Filipino-born Godwin (also a tennis instructor and ex-college instructor and writer), who started the business in 1999 (nearby in Droogbak), then in June 2018 moved to this 1770s location in a street "with funky shops and trendy restaurants" and which connects the Keizersgracht and Herengracht canals. Other characters in the Barangay narrative include Eduardo – who runs the B&B — and chihuahua Bodi. Barangay is a Filipino word meaning 'small village or community'. The establishment — whose options are Tropical Double or Twin Room — a  comes with a warning: steep, narrow stairs.
