Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ

(1 Rating)
Specialists in contemporary music

Holland's premiere venue for contemporary works, "classical music with a modern twist" and jazz, opened in 2005. Overlooking the IJ lake, not far from the Central Station, the striking award-winning building is the design of Danish architects 3XN and includes a warm, woody and flexible 725-seat space and a smaller hall for more intimate recitals. The name translates as 'concert hall (music building) on the IJ'.
