Reality (Closed Permanently)
One of Amsterdam's few bars in which you'll find a mix of black and white men. Especially popular with Surinamese guys (with themed Mondays devoted to them) — "geared towards black and colored men and women, and very proud of the unique mix of people of all ages, colour, race and gender. Cafe Reality is famous for bringing a touch of the tropics to Amsterdam." Music is a key thing here, including salsa, merengue and more, with regular DJs in an atmosphere marked by Caribbean hospitality. Happy Hour 8.30pm–10pm daily. Opened 1996 and still going strong. The bar appears to have closed late 2022.
